BURNING SHADOW zine (GREECE) - ALBUM REVIEW (8 / 10 points) -

World Chaos is a label located in Japan that supports mainly a kind of metal that not many other do, thrash! After releasing the albums of Terror Squad and Manipulated Slaves, here I have on my hands the debut CD of Grim Force , a band whose the vocalist/guitarist has played with Ritual Carnage. Here you won't find beautiful melodies of melancholic keyboards, only in your face thrash! Very heavy, brutal, with the sound and the vocals bringing to my mind old Sepulutura, but the simple structure of the songs remind me of Sodom. Their music isn't based on the ultra-fast riffs, like most thrash bands do, but on the headbanging rhythms and the heaviness of the songs. For a debut this is very good, but of course there are a few things that need improvement, like the vocals because sometimes they become tiring, and also they should put more originality in the music. But, overall, I'm quite satisfied and I'm waiting for their next effort. I think I should mention that some guitar solos have been played by Eddy of Ritual Carnage, and that the bassist of the band is a girl! I don't know the price but judging by the other releases of the label, is 15US$ , and believe me, these money are very few instead of this album, that comes with a fucking great booklet(lyrics, photos, thanks etc.) that's also a poster!!
